Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Nassim Nicholas Taleb (born 1960) is a Lebanese-American essayist, scholar, statistician, and former options trader. He is best known for his work on randomness, probability, and uncertainty, particularly his concept of the Black Swan event. Taleb spent two decades as a risk-taker and quantitative trader before dedicating his life to researching and writing about the flaws in our understanding of risk. Fooled by Randomness is the first book in his five-volume philosophical essay on uncertainty, the Incerto.
